It provides supplemental physical protection around the plug-in connection area when used with protective wire loom.

Important Information
When protective loom is required for an exterior extension, connection areas should also be protected as specified in the installation instructions.
Protective loom does not make connectors waterproof, provide a Wet Location rating, or replace properly rated electrical connections.
